So...what exactly is a French Bohemian Travelers Junk Journal?

A Junk Journal is like a regular journal only it's hand-made with recycled materials and ephemera to fit your individual personality.  In my opinion, these types of journals are way more fun, playful and artistic!

Why French? Mostly because I love vintage French ephemera, images and design and I just happened to have lots of French ephemera that I used for these journals.  However, you can use what ever you like.

What is a Travelers Junk Journal?  It's a derivation of a Travelers notebook.  A travelers notebook is a book like cover that holds smaller notebooks or inserts with elastic bands.  These Junk Journals are a funky, bohemian version of a notebook insert or they can be used on their own.  The size of these journals make them ideal to carry in your purse or satchel.

What's this all about?

In this class, my goal is to guide you to design your own individual junk journal because I'd like to think there is a story behind everything we collect, display or stash away, and what better way to use our collections than in an artisan journal with a Bohemian twist. In this class I share my treasure chest of 20 plus years in paper crafting and show you as many techniques and tips as I can to create your unique story in this eclectic journal. The beauty of this class is that it is open to all types of adventurous creatives from the beginning paper crafter to scrapbookers, junk journal junkies, mixed media artists, quilters, jewelers, painters...we all have a story to tell. I invite you to bring your personal stash so that you can create your own story in this Bohemian Junk Journal class. If journaling is not your thing, then use them like I do, as an arsenal for your personal collections or look book. We will be sewing paper, card stock and fabric for part of class, but we will also cover alternatives to sewing.

About the Instructor - Robin Dudley Howes

Hi!  Welcome to my Bohemian happy place!  I have been an educator for over 2 decades, guiding individuals to loosen up their creativity and think outside of the box, mostly with unconventional styles of art.  I've taught 1000's of students at hundreds of venues in various backgrounds with a goal of not only finishing a project but teaching them how to be creative.   Since 1997, I have been published dozens of times in well known magazines (landing the cover of 1) and 3 books, been asked to speak about creativity via speaking engagements and podcasts, which has lead to a growing social media platform and loyal following.  To say I am PASSIONATE about spreading the magic of creativity would be an understatement.  I live, eat and breathe creativity EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.  I absolutely love sharing my knowledge, wether it be at cozy home gatherings, large National art retreats or online.  It's what I love to do and I'm so grateful to my loyal following and a platform to spread my love of creativity.
